The Fourth International 54 Day Rosary Novena for the healing of autism, will commence on October 1 and conclude on November 23, 2013. Please let people know about this.
A 54 Day Rosary Novena for the healing of autism will be commenced on October 1 and will be concluded on November 23, 2013. Please mark the dates for the novena in your diary. In the novena we will be praying for healing for all those who have autism and autism related conditions, and also for help for the families, carers, and for the professionals who are working with children and adults who have autism, (doctors, therapists, teachers, etc.) and for the healing of family trees in those cases where autism has occurred in more than one generation of a family. We will also be praying for the medical researchers to find answers and help for those who have autism. Please let me know if you will be participating. Contact me at: Mary Ann at catacomb@bigpond.com (This will help me to get an idea of how widespread the participation in the novena is.) I would also appreciate it if you could give me an indication about how you came to hear about the novena: e.g. facebook, forum, mailing list, private email etc.
Please put in the subject line of the email the words: 54 Day Rosary Novena (autism) I would appreciate it, if you could indicate the country that you are in. Please pass this information on to others, who you think might be interested. I will not be keeping a list of names on this page, but if you wish to, you can enroll a person with autism in the novena to St. Philomena for the healing of autism. The link for the St. Philomena novena is on this page.

Promotors
My grateful thanks go out to all the people who are participating in the novena. Our combined prayers will be more powerful than our individual prayers. I also thank all the people who have promoted these novenas through various means; their blogs (especially Father George Byers CPM), through websites, email, and homeschooling groups etc.The Catholic Weekly newspaper (Sydney), gave us publicity for the novena last year.
I also thank the following Australian parishes; St. Patrick's Cathedral, Parramatta, Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, St. Marys NSW and St. Aiden’s Parish Rooty Hill, for promoting last year's novena in their parish bulletins.
Father John Rizzo FSSP (the assistant priest at my parish of St. John Vianney, Doonside, NSW Australia) promoted this novena, while he was in New Zealand last year. Steve and his 4th grade religious education class in WA, USA are praying for the success of this apostolate.
The 54 Day Rosary Novena
The 54 Day rosary novena is a simple devotion which was revealed by Our Lady to a girl in Italy in the 19th Century. It is done in the following way: You say the Rosary for 54 consecutive days in a row. The first 27 days are for the petition and the next 27 days are for thanksgiving. Regardless of anything that has happened, you still go ahead and thank Our Lady for the outcome. I and many other people have experienced terrific answers to prayers that seemed to have been bordering on the impossible. One of these petitions was very big and I had prayed my heart out for it for about 2 years and this seemingly impossible request was granted in the most wonderful way after I did a 54 day Rosary Novena as a final resort to get it granted and the answer was far more abundant than I had even requested or imagined when I made my petition.
Special notes
Please bookmark this page so that you can return to it. Share the link to this novena with your family, friends and those who have family members who have autism. If you find this web page when the novena is already started, just commence on the day that you found the novena and continue it with the other people. Due to the large number of emails that I receive because of various prayer campaigns on this web site, I regret that I am unable to answer all the emails that I receive, however be assured that I read all the emails and pray for everyone who sends me a prayer request.
Other prayer resources for those who are praying for the healing of autism
A novena to Saint Philomena the Wonder Worker for the healing of autism, is held twice every month. A priest at Lourdes, France, (Fr. Brian) brings all the names of those enrolled in the novena to the grotto on a regular basis and prays for them there. It is also supported by Father George Byers CPM in the USA, who regularly promotes it on his blog, and who offered a Mass for people who have autism and for their carers on September 22, 2012.
Feedback from a novena participant (for our first novena)
I really felt our unity in our Lady, when I recited the Rosary for the past 53 nights. Just knowing that there are people from all over the world participating in reciting the Rosary makes me feel that I want to pray harder and more every day. Can’t wait for the next one.
Thanksgiving
My youngest daughter, who suffers from mental retardardation, severe autism and also bi-polar disorder, has had a wonderful improvement in her behaviour since last year's 54 day Rosary Novena. (Mary Ann) Sydney, Australia.
Wonderful improvements
Mary Ann, I wanted to email you this for encouragement. This is our second year praying this novena with you. Last year, my son Matthew made great improvements, was led to a new doctor and has had a solid year of more behavioral stability, increased peace and decreased anxiety. His ability to do his schoolwork has also improved greatly over the past year. This all was put in place by God for us right after finishing the novena and has carried through until now.
This year, I was led to two new doctors and rapidly received medical diagnosis and treatment for conditions I did not even know I could have had. I am so grateful for the knowledge and treatment I have received and am starting to feel better than I have in a very long time. This has been ongoing over the past month, during the novena.
Thank you and God Bless you for coordinating this. God is using this novena to bless my family in the most wonderful ways. Blessings, Jessica
(The St. Philomena novena webpage has a small testimony, about the improvement of an autistic boy from London after he made his First Holy Communion at Lourdes, France)
I highly recommend to all those who are praying for someone with autism to make use of the Miraculous Medal.
