The 15th (annual) International 54 Day Rosary Novena, for the healing of autism, will commence on October 1 and will conclude on November 23, 2024
Please let people know about this.

A 54 Day Rosary Novena for the healing of autism will be commenced on October 1 and will be concluded on November 23, 2024. Please mark the dates for the novena in your diary. In the novena we will be praying for healing for all those who have autism and autism related conditions, and also for help for the families, carers, and for the professionals who are working with children and adults who have autism, (doctors, therapists, teachers, etc.) and for the healing of family trees in those cases where autism has occurred in more than one generation of a family. We will also be praying for the medical researchers to find answers and help for those who have autism. Please let me know if you will be participating. Contact me at: Mary Ann at  catacomb@bigpond.com  (This will help me to get an idea of how widespread the participation in the novena is.)  I would also appreciate it if you could give me an indication about how you came to hear about the novena: e.g. facebook, forum, mailing list, private email etc.

Please put in the subject line of the email the words: 54 Day Rosary Novena (autism)  I would appreciate it, if you could indicate the country that you are in. Please pass this information on to others, who you think might be interested. I will not be keeping a list of names on this page, but if you wish to, you can enroll a person with autism in the novena to St. Philomena for the healing of autism. The link for the St. Philomena novena is on this page.

The 54 Day Rosary Novena
The 54 Day rosary novena is a simple devotion which was revealed by Our Lady to a girl in Italy in the 19th Century. It is done in the following way: You say the Rosary for 54 consecutive days in a row. The first 27 days are for the petition and the next 27 days are for thanksgiving. Regardless of anything that has happened, you still go ahead and thank Our Lady for the outcome. I and many other people have experienced terrific answers to prayers that seemed to have been bordering on the impossible. One of these petitions was very big and I had prayed my heart out for it for about 2 years and this seemingly impossible request was granted in the most wonderful way after I did a 54 day Rosary Novena as a final resort to get it granted and the answer was far more abundant than I had even requested or imagined when I made my petition.

Special notes
Please bookmark this page so that you can return to it. Share the link to this novena with your family, friends and those who have family members who have autism. If you find this web page when the novena is already started, just commence on the day that you found the novena and continue it with the other people. Due to the large number of emails that I receive because of various prayer campaigns on this web site, I regret that I am unable to answer all the emails that I receive, however be assured that I read all the emails and pray for everyone who sends me a prayer request.

Other prayer resources for those who are praying for the healing of autism
A novena to Saint Philomena the Wonder Worker for the healing of autism, is held twice every month. A priest at Lourdes, France, brings all the names of those enrolled in the novena to the grotto on a regular basis and prays for them there.

Dear Mary Ann, It is my pleasure to participate in the 54 Day novena. My son is 9 years old. He is autistic with a low rating – is non-verbal and hyperactive etc. Be blessed. D. (Kuwait)

A story of hope
Dear Mary Ann, I want to tell you a short story about my 7 year old daughter who was diagnosed with mild A/S when she was 4 years old. I insisted on bringing her to a developmental pedia when I saw how different she was from the rest of her classmates.

It was her first year in school and she simply could not sit still. She was bored, would pick on other kids, do naughty things, etc. I felt a rush of anxiety when I observed her in school. It was only there that I saw signs because all her developmental milestones were on schedule, and some were in fact advanced as she was able to read by herself at 3 1/2 years old.

After she was diagnosed, I pulled her out of her school as her teachers could not deal with her and would make her go through little "punishments" that I thought would have an effect on her in the future. She had therapy and has been having therapy for years now.

When I moved her to big school last year for Grade 1, I was full of worries and stress because I did not know how she would cope. My worries were confirmed when I found out that she would be restless and do naughty things in school. Coupled with unconditional love from family, loving support from teachers and classmates, regular therapy sessions and prayers, my daughter made an almost 360 degree turnaround in behaviour!

This was just before they took a break in school end of October last year! To this day, she has remained focused and has consistently been cited by teachers for her very high grades and wonderful behaviour. I pray to the Lord and to our dear Mama Mary that my daughter be able to remain strong so she could continue to do well in school and even outside school. I also hope that she will be able to cope with adolescence and adulthood without difficulty. She has been sickly lately due to her allergies so I request that you please pray with me for physical strength for her too.

Thank you, Mary Ann, for establishing this prayer link. I hope that one day, the world would be free from autism and other related conditions. God bless you! M.N. (Philippines)

Feedback from a novena participant (for our first novena)
I really felt our unity in our Lady, when I recited the Rosary for the past 53 nights. Just knowing that there are people from all over the world participating in reciting the Rosary makes me feel that I want to pray harder and more every day. Can’t wait for the next one.

Good results
My son, has improved so very much since this novena has been prayed. Thank you and thank God for this. M.B. (U.S.A.)

Thanksgiving
My youngest daughter, who suffers from intellectual disabilities, severe autism and also bi-polar disorder, has had a wonderful improvement in her behaviour since last year's 54 day Rosary Novena. (Mary Ann) Sydney, Australia.

Wonderful improvements
Mary Ann, I wanted to email you this for encouragement. This is our second year praying this novena with you. Last year, my son Matthew made great improvements, was led to a new doctor and has had a solid year of more behavioural stability, increased peace and decreased anxiety. His ability to do his schoolwork has also improved greatly over the past year. This all was put in place by God for us right after finishing the novena and has carried through until now.

This year, I was led to two new doctors and rapidly received medical diagnosis and treatment for conditions I did not even know I could have had. I am so grateful for the knowledge and treatment I have received and am starting to feel better than I have in a very long time. This has been ongoing over the past month, during the novena.

Thank you and God Bless you for coordinating this. God is using this novena to bless my family in the most wonderful ways. Blessings, Jessica
